About Crochtmind + Francine K. Medina

Hi Everyone! I’m Francine K. Medina here, the creator of Crochetmind.com.

My crochet journey started early. It was only possible because my incredible grandma always sent me home with the warmest, coziest handmade afghans.

When I was only 8 years old, she taught me the basics of crocheting. Although I didn’t quite get the hang of it then, those early lessons ignited a creative spark that has never dimmed. I remember my project being crocheting a magic ring in 2010. It was difficult for me, but I nonetheless.

When I was an adult, I re-learned crochet and prioritized mistakes. Though a lot of errors occurred, I always took lessons from many crochet books,

as if 10~20~30 Minutes to Learn to Crochet ~2000, First Time Crochet: The Absolute Beginner’s, and Crochet for Beginners: A Stitch Dictionary also especially from my grandmother.

Now, I’m working towards becoming a certified crochet instructor, and I can’t get enough of crochet.

I started Cochetmind to create a resource that’s super easy for beginners and advanced to understand. I aim to use high-quality images and well-organized tutorials to make learning crochet frustration-free.

I want to help new crocheters feel confident in making great projects and enjoy creating with their own hands. This is just the start! I’m excited to keep growing this community and share the joy of making it with more people.
